Risk and/or Opportunity? What are the Liabilities...

ESG is more than a buzz word for corporations; they have established ESG requirements and demands. The “E” for Environment covers a lot of concepts, including “sustainability” which itself has varying meanings depending on the industry. We see from the emerging PFAS litigation that sustainability can impact corporations’ interaction with local communities. We also see that food products, cosmetics, electronic products, the automotive industry (with the development of use of batteries) are under a high pressure to propose sustainable and long life cycle products, while being under pressure to ensure efficient waste management and replacement. What is your company's general strategy for sustainability and what are its direct effects on your business? How important is the internal awareness? How do you protect yourself against claims such as consumer fraud, labelling, greenwashing claims? This webinar will provide you views from both the United States and the European Union.

Key Takeaways:
1. What are the biggest risks you see in the upcoming regulations for businesses but also by soft law? How do you cope with them?
2. Who are the stakeholders you in particular need to take care of as business when it comes to green claims?
3. How do you mitigate green claims / green washing risks?
4. What are the do’s and don’ts you have identified?
5. The increase in reporting standards (particularly for companies operating in multiple jurisdictions), has resulted in companies being subject to prescriptive and different ESG reporting requirements. To what extent is regulation a burden on your business and has increased your liability risks in relation to ESG reporting requirements?
