Conflicts of Interest, Investigations, and Protests...
Conflicts of Interest, Investigations, and Protests, Oh My! Navigating Post-Government Employment Restrictions as a Potential Employer
All too often, companies doing business with (or seeking to do business with) the federal government view hiring current or retired government officials as the ticket to gaining an edge in a procurement. These individuals know the ins and outs of their current/former agencies and have great insight into what the government wants and what a contractor might focus on in a proposal to win a contract. But buyer beware. A complex web of statutes, regulations, and bid protest case law make hiring such individuals a risky endeavor.
This Webinar will provide background on the various restrictions affecting the prospective employee and the prospective employer, and offer practical guidance for navigating the same, mitigating litigation risk, and avoiding investigation.
Takeaways:
Attendees will come away from this Webinar with (i) familiarity with the various statutory, regulatory, and other restrictions on post-government employment; (ii) practical tips for initial candidate intake and interviews to inform the company's consideration of the candidate; and (iii) strategies for mitigating risk, including firewalls and other methods.
