IADC Mid-Atlantic Virtual Regional Meeting
Join us! This event will be held via Zoom. We look forward to connecting with you.
We’ll kick things off with a presentation from David Hunter about why Richmond is the best beer city on the east coast.
Guiding us around the Richmond Beer scene is craft beer evangelist, David Hunter. David, a lifelong musician and guitarist in some of the most popular RVA bands discovered craft beer in 2012, shortly after an important legislative change allowed breweries to serve beer on site. This statutory change literally opened the doors of craft brewing to the public. David –who plays a critical role in the customer facing messaging space for Capital One – started a Facebook Group called Fans of Virginia Craft Breweries in 2013. The group has grown to over 20,000 members. David will talk about the genesis and growth of the Richmond beer scene, including the number of breweries, the economic impact and where he sees the industry in the years ahead.
We will also take a virtual tour of Richmond’s James River Park System and conclude with a short presentation from Michael Gladstone, “RIP: A Very Short History of Virginia's Uranium Litigation.”
*If you are in the local Richmond area, you are welcome to join others at the McGuireWoods office to connect with others over Zoom. Address details will be provided on the meeting confirmation. If you are interested, please email Candace Blydenburgh so she can give your name to Building Security. *Masks will be required to enter the building.*
