IADC Southeast Virtual Regional Meeting

Join us! This BYOB event will be held via Zoom. We look forward to connecting with you.

Featured Speaker:
Scott Barretta
University of Mississippi Center for the Study of Southern Culture
Oxford, Mississippi USA

Cultural History in Mississippi
Join noted speaker, author, and professor Scott Barretta as he entertains and educates us about “The Birthplace of the Blues,” the Mississippi Delta and its music, civil rights history, and colorful characters.  Scott will discuss blues music and both the “Blues Trail” and “Civil Rights Trail,” which are roadside markers provided for historical references and to allow self-guided day trips.  At last count, he had co-written nearly 210 markers for the Blues Trail alone!  Along with his legendary storytelling, our virtual platform will allow Scott to share slides to bring people, places, and events to life.  Scott is an instructor at the Center for the Study of Southern Culture at the University of Mississippi; former editor of Living Blues magazine; host of a radio show, “Highway 61 Radio;” and recipient of Mississippi’s Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts.

Registration Instructions: Every attendee must register themselves for the regional meeting (IADC member or non-member), and you need to be logged in with a username and password in order to register. If you have ever attended an IADC meeting or event before, you already have a username and password. If you cannot remember your password, please email Administrative Assistant Diana Leon.

If this is your first time registering for an event, you will need to create an account when prompted on the registration page and then continue with your registration.

When registering, please select the "Register Myself " button, then answer the questions and press the “Save Responses”  button, followed by the "Proceed to Checkout" button, and finally the "Submit Order" button in order to complete your registration.

Make Sure You Are Getting Your Zoom LinkShortly after registering you will receive an email from Melisa Maisel Vanis with a no-reply@zoom.us email address to send you your unique link. Please be sure you whitelist that address as it could get caught in your spam filters. In addition, you are able to add the meeting and your Zoom link to your calendar through this email.

NEW! Your IADC website profile. We recently updated member profiles to include your links to any virtual IADC meeting for which you are registered. Go to your account, and when you click to view/edit your account, go to the “Meeting Participation” tab. There you'll find “Upcoming Virtual Meetings” which includes your Zoom link for each of your registered meetings. You can copy and paste your specific Zoom link into your browser to join the meeting.
