2022 Professional Liability Roundtable

2022 Professional Liability Roundtable
2022 Professional Liability Roundtable
Thursday, May 12
University of Chicago - Gleacher Center

Sponsored by the IADC Professional Liability Committee, the Professional Liability Roundtable (PLR) is a one-day CLE program. Through a series of interactive panel discussions, PLR creates a forum for in-house counsel, outside counsel, and insurance claims professionals to learn together and discuss new developments in the professional liability arena. Beyond the educational opportunity, PLR participants are able to network with lawyers and industry professionals from multiple jurisdictions both during the program and at a concluding reception.

Medical Liability Track

A second program track is offered at the PLR. Sponsored by the IADC Medical Defense and Health Law Committee, the Medical Liability Track option offers presentations that feature effective tips on strategies and tactics for maximizing defense verdicts and minimizing damages in complex, large exposure lawsuits regardless of jurisdiction. Outside counsel and industry professionals will share the insights that they’ve learned through experience with very challenging claims and lawsuits.

New Programming Offered!
This year the PLR has expanded to a full-day format with additional morning CLE sessions. Sponsored by the IADC Insurance and Reinsurance Committee, the insurance focused morning programs will offer practical advice to insurers and cover the latest developments in the industry. Outside counsel and industry professionals will share their experiences and insights with those in attendance.

Your registration applies to the entire day of programming, but you are welcome to attend either the morning or afternoon sessions only as your schedule permits.

Schedule
Morning Sessions: 8:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
Afternoon Sessions: 12:15 p.m. - 5:40 p.m.

Lunch will be provided during the morning session. All participants are invited to attend the concluding reception.

**If you are planning to attend programming in the afternoon, you must select the track you will attend (i.e. Professional Liability Track or the Medical Liability Track).**

IADC Health and Safety Protocols

IADC Professional Liability Roundtable COVID Requirements

All attendees must have proof of vaccination or negative COVID test within 72 hours to attend the meeting. Vaccination documentation can be the physical card or some form of electronic verification. (examples: photo on your phone of your vaccine card, proof of vaccine record through a pharmacy or medical provider app, your country or city’s tracking app). Vaccination means you are two weeks from completing your COVID vaccination. Boosters are strongly encouraged but not required to attend.

You will show your documentation to the IADC staff upon arrival at the registration desk to collect your registration materials and badge. If you are unvaccinated, the COVID test should be a PCR or rapid test documented with your name and the date administered. If you do not have either of these pieces of documentation, the IADC will have a limited number of rapid COVID tests available to purchase for $20 each that you can take in a private area. With the negative rapid test, you will be able to collect your badge.

General Safety Practices

We are looking forward to a safe and productive meeting. The City of Chicago currently does not require proof of vaccination or mask wearing in indoor public spaces, although masks are required on public transportation and in health care settings, and some businesses and venues may still choose to require masks/vaccination status. Local mandates may change, so the IADC will keep attendees updated and provide further information on all requirements as the PLR draws closer.

While masks are not required in Chicago, we encourage mask wearing in close indoor meeting and social situations. We also ask everyone to be respectful of people’s decisions with regard to social distancing.

By attending the IADC Professional Liability Roundtable, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and further acknowledge that you understand and will follow all health and safety protocols established by the IADC and Gleacher Center. Failure to abide by all health and safety protocols implemented for the event is grounds for being asked to leave the event, without refund.
